UC Davis Fire Takes Valentines Fun to the UC Davis Childrens Hospital

On February 6th UC Davis Fire Department (UCDFD) personnel gathered bags full of valentine decorations and joined our friends at the UC Davis Medical Center for a special crafting event. Fire Engineer Corrie Beall planned and coordinated the event for the second year in a row to bring smiles to kids currently receiving treatment at the UC Davis Children's hospital. Along with making valentines for the kids participating in the craft time, UCDFD fire personnel made cards for others throughout the hospital to be delivered. The event provided a few hours of laughs, lots of creativity, and even a visit from Paloma the facility pup!

UCDFD can't wait to expand our partnerships and support with the UC Davis Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network at UC Davis to help bring some much needed love and attention to their mission.

"We are blessed with the opportunity to serve the UC Davis community everyday. Not just on the scene of emergencies, but also in settings like today's event. Without all the distractions that exist when we are doing our routine work, we get to make a deeper connection, and what better place to share of our time and efforts than right here at the UC Davis Children's Hospital?," said UC Davis Fire Chief Nathan Trauernicht
