Summer 2024 Wildfire Deployments

Following UC Davis Fire Deployments to help contain the summer wildfires across the state.

August 20, 2024 -- All UC Davis Fire Department resources are back on campus.

August 15, 2024 -- Brush Truck 34 returned with four UC Davis Firefighters, with the last one returning back on Saturday (Aug. 17)

August 9, 2024 -- UC Davis decided to deployed Captain Steve Dunn as a Strike Team Leader to the Park Fire to lead a type III engine strike team made up of regional resources. 

2024 Resuscitation Academy

UC Davis Fire Department is hosting the 2024 Resuscitation Academy on October 14 and 15. Register today!

The UC Davis Fire Department will once again host the two-day free training event, which covers the latest findings in resuscitation, CPR, and post-resuscitation pre-hospital care. Attendees can choose to attend a single day (either day) or both days.

 

 

Fire Day on the Quad 2024

Fire Day on the Quad will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 11am-1pm on West Quad at UC Davis. Highlights include a vehicle extrication demonstration, interactive trainings in use of a fire extinguisher, hands-only CPR, and more! Free t-shirts will also be given away.

 

 

New AED Inspection Program

Beginning this summer, our Student EMT employees are going to start performing safety and maintenance checks on all campus AEDs. At minimum, the AEDs will be checked quarterly by our staff (our goal is to check every AED at least monthly). 

Wildland Fire Training 2020

Just two days after undergoing annual wildland fire training at UC Davis’ Russell Ranch, the UC Davis Fire Department, and other regional firefighting departments, responded to the largest fire of this year’s early season so far.
